RULES & CONDITIONS

Its a condition of entry that you fully agree to all these terms listed when you register and take part in the competition

NO REFUND OR TRANSFERS WILL BE GIVEN AFTER ENTRIES

HAVE BEEN RECEIVED & PROCESSED

  • Ooh la la Dance Extravaganza reserves the right to add or delete competition days, move competition locations or move to online videos submission that are due to unforeseen circumstances (including Covid restrictions) that are out of our control. Entries will not be refunded when alternative options are put in place, and we can replace the service. 

If any event is cancelled entries can be transferred to any of our competitions within 12 months. 
Transfers are valid for 12 months from the time of original entry submission..
  • In the event of a natural disaster, or a venue is no longer able to be used. Ooh la la Dance Extravaganza reserves the right to transfer the dates of the event or cancel. Alternate arrangements will be offered and assessed by 

  • Ooh la la Dance Extravaganza

  • DUE TO COVID19: If our event is required to modify, delay or be cancelled due to COVID19 government restrictions or venue issues (this includes border closures), the above terms and conditions will still go into effect and you agree to this when registering your entries.

    We will (in most cases) work to have the event go ahead even if its delayed to a later date, this will be the priority.

Full care but no responsibility will be taken for injuries or lost property of anyone attending Ooh la la Dance Extravaganza.

It's our final decision on issues including those not covered in these rules and conditions.

Guests​ and their visitors, our helpers or employees enter and use these premises at their own risk.

Neither Ooh La La Dance Extravaganza nor their representatives, volunteers or agents are liable for loss or damage to

any guest, visitor, employee or any persons property, nor for injury or death of any guest or visitor, whilst they attend

Ooh La La Dance Extravaganza Eisteddfod.



Ooh la la Dance Extravaganza has a 100% cancellation fee if you decide not to attend and withdraw.

No refund or transfers will be given when you are a no show or withdraw.

You agree to this when you register and enter for the event, and will not make a claim for a refund under these terms and conditions.

If the event is still going ahead and you withdraw for whatever reason including medical, injury, covid 19 or isolation there will not be a refund or transfer.

COVID 2020/2021 CANCELLED EVENTS - Transfers are welcome to be used at any of our 2022 competitions. TRANSFER MUST BE USED BY OUR LAST COMPETITION IN NOVEMBER 2023. Please submit a new form and complete the transfer section on the new entry form. 

ENTRIES CAN ONLY BE TRANSFERRED ONCE.


ONCE AN ENTRY HAS BEEN SUBMITTED AND PROCESSED (BY OUR OFFICE).

YOUR ENTRY CAN'T BE TRANSFERRED AGAIN TO ANOTHER COMPETITION IF DATES DON'T SUIT OR SOMETHING ELSE ARISES.

 Complying to our rules: By entering our eisteddfod you agree to comply with all rules laid down by Ooh la la Dance Extravaganza! 

Any breaching of the rules will incur penalties or disqualification. Parental supervision of your own child/children is required whilst at our competitions. 

Competitors: Competitors must enter and compete in their own age group. No dancing below age is allowed. Competitors must be ready to compete in the section in the order in which their name appears in the program (unless otherwise arranged with the Sheree or Michael).

Combining or Cancelling : OOH LA LA  reserves the right to combine or cancel any sections

Amending entries: Please check your entries before submitting the form. Amending an entry after the form has been submitted you will incur a $30.00 admin fee. 

Music: ALL MUSIC MUST BE UPLOADED. NO MUSIC = NO DANCE. There is a small fee to use this service: https://musicuploads.com.au/musicuploads/pricing please click on this link for pricing. 

If music is not uploaded by the due date or has to be amended there will be $30.00 admin fee. 

ALL INFORMATION WILL BE EMAILED ONCE THE PROGRAM HAS BEEN RELEASED

Please ensure you bring back up on your phone on the day.

Adjudicator: The adjudicators decision will be final

Who is the eisteddfod open to? This eisteddfod is open to amateurs. That is those whose main source of income is not that of a performer/dance teacher.

NO VIDEOING ALLOWED AT OUR EVENTS 

TIME LIMITS: 

SOLOS/DUOS/TRIOS - 2.5 mins

GROUPS - 4 mins

 

SHOWCASE QUALIFYING LOCATIONS: Please see individual locations. Sydney, Lake Macquarie & Singleton events are not qualifiers.

 

SHOWCASE QUALIFYING: All acts that place 1st, 2nd and 3rd in solos, duos, or groups qualify for Nationals in January 2024 on the Gold Coast. Improvs, Ooh la la's got talent, Teacher & student duo's/trio's & Teacher & student groups are NOT QUALIFIERS.

 

DANCER OF THE YEAR (DOTY): Performers must enter our DOTY section (any genre can be performed). Dances can be repeated. This is a qualifying sections only, no awards are issued. The adjudicator makes decides on who will qualify for DOTY.

ALL QUALIFYING ACTS PERFORM AT THE NATIONALS ON THE GOLD COAST. Over $180,00 cash and prizes to be won.

Prize Ratio for Solo's, Duo's & Trios:

1 - 3 = 1st Place Trophy 

4 - 6 = 2nd Place Medal

7 - 9 = 3rd Place Medal

10 - 12 = 4th Place Medal

13 - 15 = 5th Place Medal

WE DON'T GIVE OUT SCORES 

HC = Adjudicators choice on how many are issued (if any) in each section.

It's the adjudicators ruling for places given. The above is a guide line for the adjudicators. 

GROUPS ARE THE SAME AS ABOVE, EXCEPT A TROPHY FOR THE PLACE AND RIBBONS FOR THE PERFORMERS.

Protest: Any protest must be lodged with a fee of $100.00 within ten minutes of completion of section to the official table (fee will be forfeited if protest is dismissed).


Programs: Are uploaded to our website. It is the competitors responsibility to download the program once it's been released. Programs are usually uploaded one month prior to an event.


Video Recording: An official video operator will be available throughout the eisteddfod for recording on DVD. This person is not part of Ooh la la they are independent from us. Please see them prior to your event.

Improvisation clothing: Plain dance wear​

Groups: Troupes must contain no less than 3 competitors. Age as of 1/1/2022 (may have up to 3 competitors up to 12 months older than the age they are competing in). 

Dance Repetition: Competitors may repeat a dances in any section

No competing out of section is allowed

SECTIONS Ages for solos : 4/U, 6/, 8/U, 10/U, 12/U, 14/U, 16U & OVER

SECTIONS Ages for Groups: 6/U, 8/U, 10/U, 12/U, 14/U, 16U & OVER, TEACHER & STUDENTS, PRIMARY SCHOOL, HIGH SCHOOL, ADULT

Solo sections: Jazz, Hip Hop, Straight Tap, Fast Tap , Lyrical, Demi Character, Classical/Neo Classical, Contemporary, Broadway/Musical Theatre, Acro, Ooh la la's got talent

Student Choreography: All genres are combined

Ooh la la's Got Talent: Any talent you've got (doesn't have to be dancing), you can repeat routines. 

Duo sections: All genres are combined. New section: Teacher & student

Improvs: Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, Tap, Classical Ballet, Demi Character, Mystery

Group sections: Jazz, Hip Hop, Tap, Lyrical, Classical Ballet, Contemporary, Variety, Adult Tap , Adult Jazz, High Schools & Primary School

SMALL GROUPS - See entry form for details

LARGE GROUPS - See entry form for details 

Novice: Confined to competitors who have never won 1st place in that genre. We only offer Novice sections for Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, Classical Ballet and Tap (all tap genres combined). AVAILABLE ONLY FOR OUR SPRING TOUR 2024.

Restricted: Confined to competitors who have won 1st place in a Novice section for that genre. If our novice sections are not available at your location, please enter Restricted for Novice and Restricted competitors.

Open: Confined to competitors who have won 1st place in a restricted section at any eisteddfod or festival for that genre, regardless of the routine.

Open Assist: Confined to competitors who are already in OPEN but have not been placed 1st, 2nd or 3rd place in the last year at any eisteddfod (HC is not included) This section only applies to 10 years and over 

Teachers: Free entry to two teacher only from each dance school per day. TEACHERS MUST PRODUCE THEIR WWCC or BLUE CARD.

 No Free entry for teachers under 18yrs.
