KIRA NELSON
Kira is an international performer who is currently based in Sydney. She completed her Diploma of Performing Arts at ED5International in 2012. During her first stint in Sydney, Kira choreographed for a number of events, including the Youth Olympics Opening Ceremony and Australia Day on Darling Harbour.
Since graduating, Kira has been travelling the world performing and training overseas, commencing with a contract on Royal Caribbean: Voyager of the Seas, before continuing her training in New York, LA and London.
Since returning from her travels, Kira has been re establishing herself on the scene, performing in the X factor finals, in the award winning Stephen Tannos project “The Process”, and cementing herself as a vital part of Natasha Crane Creations with performances including Sydney Mardi Gras and Macau Festival. Kira is also a current member of DUTI – Dancing Under The Influence, who recently performed ‘UNDER MINDS’ to sold-out crowds.
Kira is also making her mark as an Australian choreographer in many forms. She recently launched her own tap dance company ‘T∀P’ (Tap For All) – with the aim of fusing different dance styles with tap, and therefore widening its audience. The company recently performed their first full-length show “Colour eMotion” to critical acclaim and wonderful reviews. Keep your eyes open for workshops and tour dates.
Kira has also had many choreographic opportunities including a Triple J Unearthed music video, ‘The Lazy’s – Howling Woman’ video as well as routines for casinos overseas. Kira was recently assistant choreographer for ‘Cats’ presented by Packemin Youth Productions.
